With over two decades in the building industry, my passion lies in creating homes that are beautiful, durable, and energy-efficient. My career began as a building science consultant and certified HERS rater, analyzing energy usage models, identifying structural deficiencies on production job sites, and advising builders on best practices for performance and safety.

In 2005, I transitioned to residential energy auditing in Minnesota, using diagnostic tools like blower door tests and infrared thermography to reveal hidden efficiency gaps in existing homes. This hands-on experience gave me a deep, foundational knowledge of vintage Midwestern home construction and how every system within a home interacts.

Looking to bridge the gap between building science and practical execution, I founded SustainMax Home Performance in 2008. Over eight years, I grew the company to a team of eight, earned my BPI Building Analyst certification, and delivered custom, high-performance remodeling solutions. After successfully selling SustainMax in 2016 to prioritize family life, I have continued to combine my trade skills, love of fine woodworking, and deep technical expertise to guide clients through successful residential renovations.
